Activites
The inn is located just 2 short blocks from the sandy beaches of
Lake Huron, perfect for swimming or sun bathing. A modern 350 slip
marina adjoins the beach with full services available for boaters.
A number of charter boats ply the local waters in pursuit of salmon
and rainbow trout.
Other summer activities include golf, tennis, cycling, canoeing,
kayaking, wind surfing or hiking on the nearby Bruce Trail. If you
are seeking a more relaxed pace, explore the local area with its
shopping, restaurants and quaint museums or go treasure hunting
in one of the many antique shops.
The Town of Port Elgin is beautiful all year round. An abundance
of maple trees provide spectacular colour in the fall and the annual
Pumpkinfest weekend in October is one of the most popular events
in Ontario!
Later in the year, snow blankets the pristine countryside and cross
country skiing, snowshoeing and toboganning are all close by. You
can even take in an afternoon of dog sledding! Hockey tournaments,
curling bonspiels and a winter carnival make for a pleasant winter
stay.
